The jobs that depend on the oil industry aren't just the obvious ones such as driller, derrick hand and so on...truck drivers are heavily employed by the oil industry, as are mechanics, general laborers, welders, food vendors, housing contractors who build sleeping quarters at the "man camps", these are just a few of the many jobs that revolve around the actual oil fields, entire towns revolve around the oil fields in Texas ...now let's take a look at oil refineries, the entire economy of Houston TX depends heavily on the oil refining industry..nearly 52,000 jobs in the U.S alone are oil refinery jobs, that does not include the janitors that work there or the general contractors and mechanics and food vendors and so on...Another industry that depends on the oil industry is the oil leasing industry and landman...Joe Biden's Economic recovery policies would destroy the economy of Texas and put upwards of a million people out of work...if confronted by this Joe Biden would say "well we can train you to do green energy jobs" but the reality is that green energy does not produce high paying and plentiful jobs and even if they did, men and women that depend on the oil industry would have to go learn a new trade and learning takes time and $$$...most people do not have the time or the money to go learn a new trade when they have a mortgage, car note, and kids to feed. Again many jobs in the oil industry are very high paying and often do not require a college education-hints they are a great way for poor Americans to climb the socio-economic ladder-something Dems used to be about. For example, an oil supervisor makes roughly $93,000 a year and does not require a college degree...The Democrats are so out of touch with Texans...the "oh you will learn a new trade" talking point is the same exact thing as "learn to code"; it's insulting and does not even attempt to look at the actual difficulties of switching careers....Don't mess with Texas Joe!

Texas has a huge tech sector with people from Ca staffing it. Those people vote left. Judging by the Cruz/O'Rourke election it does appear that the amount of leftist voters is rising and nearing the equal threshold.
Its too early to say how voters will react to Abbot messing with texans and his mandatory mask order.
absolutely agree, but I believe Trump will win big simply because he is on the ballot and Ted Cruz really isn't that well liked by blue collar Texans, hints the new beard Ted is rocking..Trump will get people to show out
I dont think there is a contest this Nov. But I would keep an eye on the trends. There are more leftist votes each day and even Republicans wont stand up for freedom anymore in many states which translates to disgruntled voters.
The Cruz/O'Rourke election was a huge wakeup call for me. There's a shitton of morons here who just want free shit and open borders. Biden can't win here I don't believe, but if they had Tulsi Gabbard or any remotely appealing candidate it might be very very close.
Its only a matter of time before they get someone who can appear moderate or slander the Republican enough that people dont vote for him (Roy Moore in AL). At that point TX will move into swing state category.
Desperation. They know they are not going to win. What he wants to do is awful and I truly think most Americans are not interested.
I just moved here from CA and so did half my neighbors.
I can tell you that 75% if everyone I meet that moved here recently is conservative.
I pray you are right my friend!
I dunno, I know a hell of a lot of illegal alien apologists in TX. Not to mention the influx of out of staters who may be conservative where they came from, but not by TX standards of recent history.
I think all y'all have a hell of a hard fight to try and keep TX in the immediate future. So be sure to remind people to get their asses to the voting booth; for every election.
Yee to the Haw, brother.
They canvas college students in AUSTIN and think that represents all Texas.
Ted Cruz won by more than 200K votes. The dems pushed as hard as they could and still lost by quite a bit. Beta Cuck had the largest campaign in history for a senate race and lost by over 200K. Trump is on the ticket and things are grossly different from 2018. Things are different now. We are in unprecedented times.
It is a battle ground state. Just look at election numbers over the past 4 years
you must be from Oklahoma , hey man I like OKC ..Oklahoma is a great state! very nice people...
yeah we know the cities are blue...they are filled with out of staters or people born in them...the real challenge right now is that Texas has been known for their conservative suburbs..but they have changed drastically- many people from California have moved there, I would say that the suburbs can be categorized as "swing suburbs"...but IMO they will strongly back Republicans because 1. Trump is on the ballot and 2. White Suburban women are secretly terrified by the riots...there were curfews put into place and warnings sent out in certain suburbs around DFW during all the riots and it scared the shit out of them..threats were made to come to certain suburbs and burn down businesses 3: Tearing down of founding fathers statues ...Dems will lose any shot at gaining Texas suburbs because of this..
