The jobs that depend on the oil industry aren't just the obvious ones such as driller, derrick hand and so on...truck drivers are heavily employed by the oil industry, as are mechanics, general laborers, welders, food vendors, housing contractors who build sleeping quarters at the "man camps", these are just a few of the many jobs that revolve around the actual oil fields, entire towns revolve around the oil fields in Texas ...now let's take a look at oil refineries, the entire economy of Houston TX depends heavily on the oil refining industry..nearly 52,000 jobs in the U.S alone are oil refinery jobs, that does not include the janitors that work there or the general contractors and mechanics and food vendors and so on...Another industry that depends on the oil industry is the oil leasing industry and landman...Joe Biden's Economic recovery policies would destroy the economy of Texas and put upwards of a million people out of work...if confronted by this Joe Biden would say "well we can train you to do green energy jobs" but the reality is that green energy does not produce high paying and plentiful jobs and even if they did, men and women that depend on the oil industry would have to go learn a new trade and learning takes time and $$$...most people do not have the time or the money to go learn a new trade when they have a mortgage, car note, and kids to feed. Again many jobs in the oil industry are very high paying and often do not require a college education-hints they are a great way for poor Americans to climb the socio-economic ladder-something Dems used to be about. For example, an oil supervisor makes roughly $93,000 a year and does not require a college degree...The Democrats are so out of touch with Texans...the "oh you will learn a new trade" talking point is the same exact thing as "learn to code"; it's insulting and does not even attempt to look at the actual difficulties of switching careers....Don't mess with Texas Joe!

yeah we know the cities are blue...they are filled with out of staters or people born in them...the real challenge right now is that Texas has been known for their conservative suburbs..but they have changed drastically- many people from California have moved there, I would say that the suburbs can be categorized as "swing suburbs"...but IMO they will strongly back Republicans because 1. Trump is on the ballot and 2. White Suburban women are secretly terrified by the riots...there were curfews put into place and warnings sent out in certain suburbs around DFW during all the riots and it scared the shit out of them..threats were made to come to certain suburbs and burn down businesses 3: Tearing down of founding fathers statues ...Dems will lose any shot at gaining Texas suburbs because of this..
