I honestly don't agree with you about individualism not being hand in hand with the family dynamic.

I believe that by bettering myself, by a rising tide raising all ships, I'm bettering my family. When my children seeing me work to better myself, they see an example of hard work paying off, or perseverance if it doesn't. Then when the success comes, they see what went into it. It all goes back to taking responsibility for your actions and where you are in life.

The picture says the individual is the primary unit and at the same time the nuclear family is the ideal social unit.

I agree that you are an individual who works and betters themself so that their family can have a better life. Absolutely, that is what people across the world (not just white people) should and do do. I am criticizing the way they laid it out.
