Asians and polynesians fall under this description as well. Sans the rugged individualism.

I would also argue that the rugged individualism cannot walk hand in hand with the family structure, it's either /or not both simultaneously.

I honestly don't agree with you about individualism not being hand in hand with the family dynamic.

I believe that by bettering myself, by a rising tide raising all ships, I'm bettering my family. When my children seeing me work to better myself, they see an example of hard work paying off, or perseverance if it doesn't. Then when the success comes, they see what went into it. It all goes back to taking responsibility for your actions and where you are in life.
