One thing you mentioned there that holds people hostage is in regards to small business operating outside of their state's mandates. A business owner who refuses to comply will lose their license.
Choosing to operate your business can't be equated with lawfully/unlawfully protesting, looting or rioting because doing any of those things won't coat you your livelihood. So long as operating licenses are required, local and state governments have owners by the balls on this.
If my employer fires me, it will not be fun for them.
I've been procrastinating, but I need to get my own business up and running sooner than later so I can keep my home and stick to my morals on the mask issue.
