Sorry for length, but this is a true story :

2008, I'm a Soph at college and not really into politics - I never actually wanted to vote. I felt I didn't have much of a say in a sea of 300+ million. The university has (as most do) democratic clubs going around with registrations ALL over campus, prior to Obama v. Hillary. Harassing, following, and bothering everyone not registered to fill out the forms right there with them.

I can ignore them as I walk to and from class, but alas, they make their way into the dorms, elevating their berating prowess. My roommate and I give up, look at each other and tell one of them "yeah ok, we'll register."

We finish registering and both hand him the paperwork. He's looking them over and noticed my roommate registered Democrat but I registered independent (I still am, as at times agree on some general ideologies for both sides). He says:

"you registered independent"

I say "yes I know."

"well, you can't vote in the primary then..."

"yes, I'm aware of that as well, I don't want to. I do want to vote in the general election after each side selects their candidate."

"well, you could register democrat, vote, then change it."

"uhh yeah I don't want to do that"

He gives me a funny look and finally says "alright" and leaves. Fast forward to Nov and it's Obama v McCain. My roommate and I wait in line for 2 hours to get up to the books. He's first - all good. Then me, my name is not listed. I tell them that had to be a mistake I registered with the same person at the same time as my roommate who was just in front of me. Nope, not there. I had to fill out an absentee ballot, which I found out months later didn't count bc I was never registered.I was angry. I swore off all politics and voting. I was so confused as to why anyone would do what I presume he did and "lose" my paperwork.

Long story short, I see Trump declare he's running. I think it's a joke but entertaining. He's saying things I love and agree with though; I go to the rallies (again, entertainment but I love it, every second). I see everywhere he's being cheated by the MSM and the left, and I feel like I was cheated by an acorn in their forest - a small pawn in their game.

I didn't vote in '16, but I sure as hell registered for this one. I have very few complaints, and many great things to say about what he's done. I read A LOT now, dig a lot, and find the real news. It's liberating to know the first time I vote for a president, it will be for the GEOTUS.

KAG.

Really I just wanted to see the spectacle I had heard it was. I wasn't disappointed, two older ladies dressed up in business suits with chains around their hands yelling "lock her up!"
