Pedowood films are overbugeted in the extreme and suffer for it. Their profit margin is also kinda on the slim side. Some of the absolute best movies to come out of there in decades have been shoestring budget passion projects by people who wanted to make something good.

Low budget movies with some of the quality talent that has been blacklisted from pedowood could be phenomenal films, and still make enough money to be profitable. They could potentially provide an overhead and single roof for all the Mel Gibson's, Kevin Sorbo's and soon to be Chriss Pratt's out there who've branched off to form their own studios for independent Christian films that rarely if ever see the light of day.

They don't have to produce the next crappy Marvel Movie, they don't have to pump out a billion dollar Transformers movie, they can budget 40 mil for a spy drama with the hopes of making a 100 back through small sales, and be just fine. But I think the market for a direct pedowood competitor is there like never before, and it could potentially be far more successful than that.

Now that you mention it... didn't 300 have to go independent? And it rocked.

Most movies that pushed some kind of boundary ended up going indi, or at least getting an indi producer to back them. You'd never know it with the way they get latched onto and copied in one form or another. I don't remember 300 having a particularly large budget either, I could be way wrong though. Been a long time since that came out, sheesh.
