But if it is so infectious, how can the other ways not be accurate. Even a blood test would allow you to know if you have the antibodies. I can live without the brain spear.

It's not that other methods are not accurate, it's that the tests are not accurate. For something to be accurate you have to develop a test, blood-brain barrier is easier to develop therefore it already exists, mouth method will obviously come at a later time, but there are already companies testing that method. Do you think blood culture tests were accurate from the start? No, somebody developed it and made it accurate which is why it is in use.
