Public sector unions use threats to strong-arm politicians, who are effectively bureaucrats not representatives (esp. in states like mine w/o any vote integrity), to raise their own salaries from confiscated wealth. If you want a high paying job, get out of public service. That said, the public school system is not a service but a plague, and I would love to see it dismantled entirely.

Your State has 0 vote integrity. Expound on how that goes wrong? This should be our #1 focus now, IMHO. In my State of WI, the USPS "lost" a bunch of mail in ballots in our primary in April, all of which were R. In 2018 D's frauded their way into the Governor's seat the usual way, bringing boxes of fraudulent mail in ballots at the last minute.

How much of that has to do with public sector Unions I couldn't say. Obviously politicians shouldn't be strong-armed by anyone, and Unions should not have the power to do so. Thinking that public servants will be the poorest among us isn't reasonable, but the rank and file could be effective with modest pay, and their superiors not much different; that's where the problem lies.

Public education isn't going to be dismantled. It could / should become a "new normal," in that learning online shows who's willing to work because they excel, while others slouch. Unfortunately the best school system near me did nothing but review once schools were closed. The buildings would still remain useful for labs, sports, drama, music etc that can't be done individually. This could drastically reform education as we know it, for the better. It would also greatly facilitate more physical space, which would be a health benefit for staff far moreso than kids.

The DoE should be dismantled. Obviously that's the only reason Betsy DeVos was put in her position.

I'm going to be honest, I have heard a lot of stories from people I trust about both public and private sector unions. I think they are probably as corrupt if not more so than any political party, and I have no love for either of them.

One friend's brother was hired as a plant manager for a very large corporation that was unionized. First day, a union rep walked into his office, sat behind the manager's desk, and threw his feet up on it. "This is how things work around here. The union runs this plant, the union owns this plant, the union owns you. The union will tell you what you can do, and what you cannot do. It's important that you understand who is in charge here. Do you understand?" He fired this union rep immediately. Another union member complained when he was assigned actual physical labor within his job description. You see, he'd been employed there over a decade, and had earned the right to be paid NOT to work. "I understand", he told the worker, and then fired the lazy idiot. Unions are great for empowering the lazy, and incentivizing the rapid shift of all jobs to China.

I work in a very good paying profession that is largely without unions. I have a marketable skill set. If an employer treats me poorly, I leave. That's the beauty of the Trump economy. Don't like the work? Don't like the pay? Leave.

You know nothing about Unions. That's what it takes to be against them.

The people in your story should've been fired. 10 years ago.

The people in my story were protected by their union. Are we going to pretend union violence and corruption don't exist?
