I think that applies to some, but I can tell you that a big chunk of democrats don't recognize that there's any lie at all. The years of constant indoctrination via education, media, social media (now), social pressure have created a perfect little bubble they live in.
What makes Trump so dangerous to the democrats is he's the first president to actively interrupt it. W Bush gladly went along with it.
Trump is causing the left to panic and in many ways is responsible for their wild behavior of late primarily because he is constantly pointing it out in very public ways that the population cant ignore. He's done this since he came down the escalator.
The democrats and their more aware supporters (the ones aware of the lie) have ben on red alert since then and their insane opposition to him is sheer panic. They had their echo chamber broken.
No argument from me there. I guess my point is that there are a lot of democrat voters who this info never makes it to. Low info voters that don't stray from HBO and CBS and CNN. They will never hear anything real about cheating.
Every single democrat I've talked to knows at least some of the lies. You can tell because they'll just pretend you didn't say something they know is true. The only democrats I've talked to which didn't do this are extremely high level manipulators which knew what topics to avoid completely or they quickly transitioned further to the right even if their core beliefs remained unshaken. It's not possible to stay further to the left of a moderate that supports abortion, wants gay marriage and higher taxes if you don't engage in the lies. The logic algorithms are too ironclad.
