ALBANY N.Y. — You can no longer only buy alcohol at restaurants or bars in New York, Gov. Cuomo announced Thursday. On a conference call with reporters, Cuomo said "all establishments must only serve alcohol to people who are also ordering food." Cuomo said in New York City there have been 5,000 complaints about people not social distancing at bars. The mandate applies statewide. "If you’re not eating a meal, and you’re just drinking, then it’s just an outdoor bar and people are mingling and they’re not isolated at individual tables. And that’s what we’re seeing," Cuomo said. Additionally, there will be no walk-up bar service allowed. All service at bar tops can only be for people seated at the bar, socially distanced by six feet, and who are also ordering food.
