This brewpub near me has outdoor seating. As I'm walking in I see all the people outside eating and drinking with no masks and having a great time. I walk in with no mask and am instantly told I need a mask to enter.
I point toward the outdoor area and say "...but I am going to go outside and not need the mask, right? Can I just order food and drink out there? I could even enter from the gate outside." Nope. I must enter indoors, with a mask, so I can take my mask off outside.
People in California are completely brainless about how to enforce these policies.
*As a bonus, this place also apparently isn't allowing tabs and ALL beers you plan to drink must be ordered with your food, or you have to order food multiple times. The California mandate only requires that food show up somewhere on the tab. Hell, you don't even have to EAT the food. You technically just have to ORDER a food item, and if it's completely sealed, you could just refund it after.
