Embalming preserves dead tissue. If the tissue wasn't already dead, the chemicals in the embalming fluid (mainly formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, methanol) would definitely kill it.
I agree with George Carlin about preserving dead bodies, "What kind of Medieval, superstitious bullshit is this?", plow those bodies under for farming.
Duncan trussel talks about this in his new show, midnight gospel. Embalming came about during the civil war when they had to preserve the bodies long enough to be transported (by wagon) back to their home states so they could have a viewing and proper funeral. After the war, they had to convince people to still buy their services so they wouldn’t go out of business. But yeah. It’s not natural and pretty useless in today’s day and age.
It kind of is though
I know you’re being sarcastic, but embalming preserves tissue, chemo kills tissue. They couldn’t be more different

I heard that shit gets you high as fuck
RBG is getting wet!
I learned what that means from watching the Chappelle Show!
I dont know why, but I literally laughed out loud at that. 🤣
People soak blunts and joints in PCP that is dissolved in an embalming fluid solution, they call it wet.
Dude I knew who used to get "wet" did indeed poop on someone's windshield after smoking it.

Yeah, but "preserving" corpses in tombs and crypts goes back to the beginning of civilization, embalming is just incidental.
I am a medieval, superstitious kind'a fuck.
