They would have to wait anyway. Mitch set the precedent when Obama appointed.

Nope. The Senate is controlled by the President's own party. That wasn't the case in 2016. Every other excuse is BS.

But McConnell’s reason was that the senate would not make appointments during an election year. Nothing would happen until after November

Would the left follow this precedent? No? Then why the fuck should the right?

It's time to stop playing by rules that hamstring us but not them.

exactly. Why do we play by the rules when the other side doesn't even recognize any rules?

Thinking like this is why we’re in the mess we’re in, time to stop taking the high road and pretending there’s some set of rules to follow.

There are rules to follow. The rules are that we’re allowed to make Supreme Court Justice appointments whenever we want so long as we have the numbers and there’s a vacancy. We have the numbers and there’s soon to be a vacancy. Any “rule” other than that is NOT a rule, it’s a “suggestion”.

That's because he had the power to do it. Reasoning is political and changes with who has power. There's never any principal from any Washington politician anymore. That's why we still need outsiders.

Sorry but the double standards are the left’s way of doing things. We’re better than that.

He blocked an appointment, they can block one if they get the Senate back.

Joe Biden set the precedent in like 1992. It's literally called the Biden rule. However Biden can get fucked.

You’re right. McConnell even mentioned it at the time. Nothing will happen if she doesn’t make it. Turtle is already nervous about losing the majority. He won’t play games like that.

Nothing to stop him doing it after the election

Yup. Exactly.

You're correct. The republicans better not cuck out because you know the democrats would absolutely appoint somebody if the situation was the opposite.
