There are two paths to fame and fortune.

  • One path requires skill, hard work, and a string of success in your name.
  • The other requires a phone call, some fake tears, and complete lack of moral fiber.

We are only going to see more Bubba Smollet's if the root cause isn't dealt with.

I think even if he comes out and says he made a mistake and is voting for Trump and supports Trump and says ALL lives matter and puts Goya as a sponsor on his Car... Will he ever live it down? The man can start a church with Tim Tebow and still not live this down. Any thoughts?

Always let someone redeem themselves.

5
chairborne101 5 points ago +7 / -2

All he has to do is say, “I’m sorry. I misinterpreted the situation”.

That’s it. It’s understandable to see how he initially jumped to that conclusion. However in the face of Insurmountable evidence, he needs to acknowledge that he was wrong. Everyone would forgive him, and we could all move on.

4
HiddenDekuScrub 4 points ago +5 / -1

He kinda did, but then he bookcased the apology with this paragraph of thanking nascar for their support.

I hate being the "canceller" here but we need to start making examples of people.

MrBabySpam 1 point ago +2 / -1

Except the whole thing was motivated by political reasons to begin with which also prevent him from ever responding in such a reasonable way.

He already got a deal, I think, with Beats.

Wallace is even less than mediocre though, Kap at least had one decent season, luck or not.

Wallace's best finish in a real NASCAR race is 28th and has never had pole position after 94 races.

Even at the Lower Division of NASCAR Xfinity (their minor league) he has NEVER WON a race out of 85 races. His best ever is 7th.

He finished 9th at the Brickyard on July 5th, and has finished 20, 21, 22 and 27 this June and July. He is ranked 20th, and will not make the chase with stellar finishes as such. He needs to win a race like rookie Cole Custer did at Kentucky. I wish him no luck as he has ruined NOOSECAR just as Krapper did nfl. Hope he enjoys his footnote of infamy.

-2
FinnTinley -2 points ago +1 / -3

Where are you getting that information?

Wallace's best finish in a real NASCAR race is 28th

He finished 2nd in his first Daytona 500, has finished 6th and 9th at Indianapolis, has 7 top ten finishes at the Cup level and has driven better than the level of equipment he has been in.

Even at the Lower Division of NASCAR Xfinity (their minor league) he has NEVER WON a race out of 85 races. His best ever is 7th.

His best Xfinity finish ever is not 7th. While he has not won in Xfinity, he has finished 2nd (1 time), 3rd (2 times), 5th (3 times), 6th (9 times), 7th (5 times), and has 15 other top 10s for a total of 35 top 10s. He has 26 more finishes 11th - 15th, for a total of 61 top 15s in 85 Xfinity races, in 40-car fields. There are also several levels below Xfinity, which is the top "minor-league." In those, he has 6 wins in 48 starts in the Camping World Truck series, 6 K&N Pro Series wins, and he won the only Super Late Model race he started.

Most of his starts in Xfinity and Cup have been in mediocre equipment, and he has driven above expectations at each level. He's not an elite driver but he's better than average and has performed above expectations.

You were posting what a shit driver he is and you were wrong.

FinnTinley -2 points ago +1 / -3

OK, my mistake. HE was posting what a shit driver Bubba is and HE was wrong, and you didn't understand why I was talking about whether he's any good as a driver.

As far as going to bat for him: I've been a NASCAR fan for years and have been aware of Bubba but not really kept up with him until he got to Cup. I haven't been a big fan but he he's always had a reputation as a straight-shooter who ignores the racial stuff.

A couple of months ago when another driver dropped a hard-r N-word on the radio, Bubba tried to stay out of it for 4 days before weighing in and when he did, he said to give the guy another chance. He didn't want him fired or to be made an example of. He's never had a reputation a race-baiter but coming in fresh I get why someone who's looking for a fight might see him as one. But with plenty of chances in the past to profit and draw attention to himself over his race, he hasn't.

As far as the noose: as a Tennessean, I can say it's naive to believe it's outside the realm of possibility that some asshole would have hung a noose in his garage the weekend after the Confederate flag ban. I'd have been mad as hell if I were him, and afterward he said he was glad it wasn't what everyone feared it was. And then he pretty much dropped it.

I doubt you've read much of this, I'd be surprised if it changed your opinion, and it doesn't really matter to me one way or another, except that I figure that since you're on here you'd rather talk about the truth rather than falling into the division and infighting that the media wants us to.

62
Spicy_maymay 62 points ago +63 / -1

Why hasn't nascar fired him? He literally faked a hate crime and then doubled down on it. These people have no brains.

37
rabdargab 37 points ago +37 / -0

they looked at all the woke advertising money he was bringing in with his bullshit, and they loved it. They dont give a shit about character.

20
Isolated_Patriot 20 points ago +20 / -0

He was smarter than Smollet though. He had someone else claim the hate crime, and made sure he himself never saw it. Onus is 99% still on nascar and the media for buying it.

Lets say it was real, there was no excuse whatsoever for Bubba's behavior, or the media spotlight, or nascar's statements, when it was admitted he never even saw the damn thing!

11
Southern_Belle 11 points ago +12 / -1

Because the president of nascar, Steve Phelps and Andrew Murstein, the new owner of RPM, concocted this together.

I think he's a puppet.

But anyway, you'd have to fire all three.

I'd like to see that. I've been tweeting about it.

3
PraiseBeToScience 3 points ago +4 / -1

Because it was NASCAR themselves that faked the hate crime.

32
Medtex1 32 points ago +33 / -1

Hahahshhshshhshshshshshshhabb, now open your mouth Bubba, and tell the world that HATES you, you had nothing to do with this fiasco. Ohhh too late you pushed the narrative? Well eat a bag of bolts then.

I'd LOVE to see NASCAR fix a win for him and truly end its legacy....

25
The_Forgotten_Man [S] 25 points ago +25 / -0

It's Pretty Hard to Fix a Win for someone who wrecks out early in almost every race.

-2
FinnTinley -2 points ago +1 / -3

He has wrecked out once of the 17 races so far this year.

Doesn’t look like 20,000 fans like Fox said

Love how empty the stadium is (I realize it's probably covid shit, but still)

Would love to see it remain this empty (or more!) forever.

believe me when the stands are packed with 100,000 the boos are gonna be bombastic, this aint the fucking NBA!

18
Isolated_Patriot 18 points ago +20 / -2

I don't understand why there are any fans there, or watching. Conservatives need to learn how to fucking boycott.

4
67Vert 4 points ago +10 / -6

People don't want to deny themselves of something they love just to virtue signal. They went and got to Boo. Not everyone is on board with cancel culture

8
Isolated_Patriot 8 points ago +9 / -1

That's not what virtue signalling is.

America was a much better place when conservatives were the ones doing the 'canceling' for things like lying about a fake hate crime, or promoting riots in the streets, or finding out that a movie star was a rapist/pedophile.

It's only virtue signaling when it's meaningless, and it's sarcastic in intent because their "virtues" are depraved garbage.

1
CodeMonkey 1 point ago +3 / -2

Boycotting is not cancel culture. Boycots target businesses, and the goal is to get those businesses to change their behavior. "Canceling" targets individuals, and the goal is to utterly ruin their lives with no hope of salvation.

Isolated_Patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

I said I do not understand why they are there, and that will continue to be the case.

I do not understand why they are supporting outright lies from nascar, along with all the "support" for a proven liar. I would not understand why any so called conservatives continue to pay for and watch CNN either. Does anyone still have a subscription to the NYT?

And don't make up shit about me calling them not American. That puts you on the same level as Bubbaccosta.

Nice to see the bleachers so empty. I don't get why these people who boo Wallace, whose hoax NASCAR stood behind, would still be giving NASCAR their money at all though.

4
Gwoz8881 4 points ago +5 / -1

This is why you don’t make up a fake racist attack. Bubba is a coward and deserves every boo plus more

3
bill_in_texas 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't see the problem. People are in the stands. They paid money to be there, so WTF does Noosecar give a shit?

The people in the stands are like spouses in abusive relationships who won't leave.

4
MidwestNorsk 4 points ago +4 / -0

Nice to know I wasn't the only one who didn't buy a ticket.

4
knightofday 4 points ago +4 / -0

The whole Bubba hoax was orchestrated in advance. The “associate” finding the garage pull, him doubling down, a new deal from Beats and massive sponsorship $$$ a week after it happened?? Those deals take months to hash out in many cases.

It was all orchestrated and he was 100% in on it because he saw an opportunity to cash in aside from his sorry ass racing career.

4
RohdKill_2020 4 points ago +4 / -0

imagine if there was a crowd there.

2

But somehow he was going to be a fan favorite and get in the all star race?

Fuck him and Nascar. They submitted to the BLM mob, and now they need to make a statement saying they made a mistake to win back any support.

2
motrhed3 2 points ago +3 / -1

not a very big crowd either. there was an article i read the other day saying there was record crowds for noosecar

2
Yucky 2 points ago +3 / -1

Good. He tried to shame everyone involved with a sport for something they've never done. He was also too stupid to notice the difference between a garage pull rope and a hangman's noose. Very low IQ.

Is that the normal amount of people in the stands that usually go to these races?

2
FinnTinley 2 points ago +2 / -0

They were only allowed to sell up to 20% capacity and had to move it from Charlotte to Bristol at the last minute to even be able to have fans in attendance at all.
