Strangely enough, one of the most rabid leftists I know is a HS Shakespearean literature teacher. When Saint Floyd suffered the fentanyl induced heart attack and died, she was doing drawings of him to help ease her pain, and atone for her white privilege. Of course she had to post them on her FB page to virtue signal. I generally wouldn't care less about that, but she has a ton of students as FB friends and never stops spewing that garbage. If I were a parent of one of her students I'd be pissed.

Yeah, having students as your FB friends seems to me a mark of immaturity. I was an English teacher for 16 years. No students on my FB. I care about them, and I'll communicate with them if they want, but I'm not adding them as "friends" so I can blitz them with my views even outside the classroom.
The district where I live, being Facebook friends with a student is a fireable offense. She's probably in some liberal hell hole where teachers can't be fired, but it's something to look into.

A little off topic, but I highly recommend that the language buffs among us look up videos about people who perform Shakespeare in their reconstructed original circa-1600 pronunciation. It's such a pleasure to listen to; it doesn't sound like modern British, which has diverged much more than American English has. It sounds like Irish English with a mixture of American and Scottish English thrown in. It's amazing!

Fortunately, the intellectual left will get around the violence problem by decriminalizing it. If you don't enforce or convict people of crimes, the numbers magically go down. That's how they play - don't solve anything, just hide the problem.
I guess that's more of what I meant. Charges will be re-categorized to make it look like the incidence of certain crimes is going down, but really just the names change. Like California can say that felony level theft is down, but it is because theft valuing less than $950 is considered a misdemeanor. Of course theft will still happen, and any smart criminal will just steal less value per incident and increase frequency, but the reality is that the plan will be marketed as a success when it is unlikely that any true decrease in theft will occur.
That reminds me of that video from awhile back. They had just made that felony theft change, and it was literally a video of someone walking into a pharmacy or something. This person walked in, brought their own bag, and just filled that shit up with over-the-counter medicine. Walked out with like $930 worth of OTC medicine, never even went up to the counter just walked in cleared a few shelves and walked out.

I can't find it again, but there was a twitter thread where someone was researching corruption in the florida school system at the time. Their findings were basically that there's this big corrupt quid-pro-quo or whatever you call it, between the police and the schools.
I don't remember the convoluted details. But it was like, the police had a deal with the schools. The schools make crime "disappear", money changes hands, the crime statistics make them all look like heroes.
The security cop living at the school is there to handle the reports and evidence and manipulate it so there's no crimes anymore.
It was so bad that the local gangs were figuring out what the crime quotas were and having teenagers do all their crimes for them after the cutoff was reached so that nothing would be done about it.
This kind of shit is likely why the florida school shooter was never apprehended despite high-risk behaviors, possibly why Trayvon Martin had a bunch of suspicious shit in his backpack but was never apprehended for anything before he got killed, and why the school security cop bugged out like a coward and didn't actually do anything to try to save the students. He wasn't there to protect them, he was there to fudge the numbers.
