My husband work for Bank of America while we were pregnant. Our baby was born on his 11th month of employment. At around six months, he was promised four months of paid paternity leave. He verified this with an HR supervisor as well as his supervisor and his supervisor supervisor. The only condition with the leave had to start when he had been there for a full year, therefore the baby's first month of life he still had to work. His first day of leave, about halfway through, they called him and told him his leave was being denied there was nothing anyone was willing to do and he had to come back to work. He handed in his two weeks notice, and was immediately called by the head of HR, who insisted she had heard nothing of this despite his attempts to run it to her office and hearing she was uninterested, and offered him one month of leave. This was all they were able to do she said, and this actor the 1 billion dollar donation was announced.

Editing to add, he was also told the only way to be promoted into management as a white male was to join one of their, I believe they are called a lie or advocacy programs. Essentially they are based on quote, oppressed demographics. Conversely, during his intake class, they said they were actively looking for women to promote into management so if any women were interested to please make it known.

LOL I just got done editing with more information, but you're right it is crazy. Luckily, his skill speak for themselves and he had a couple job offers before he had even rendered his notice. He has a better job now but it is really unfortunate because we had assumed he would be able to help with the baby and, although I love her more than anything, it is quite a lot of work right now. I believe that just goes to show what they really think about family their customers and people in all of the things that they stent to claim.
