As a general rule -- because specific shows/movies/music are a matter of personal taste -- anything before the 90s. The 90s is when political correctness, synthesized music, and CGI first began infesting the various entertainment media. In my personal opinion, the best era for all three formats is mid-70s to late 80s, especially for music.
