That is a tough one. Normally I would say he would relent. But it seems as if Mitch has taken judicial nominations on as his legacy. He has to be near the end of his career. So, he may roll everything to get it done. Would go down in history as having had the most significant influence on the judiciary of any Majority Leader.
But Mitt is useless. Would have to keep Murkowski and Collins in line. He can prolly incentivize Collins. Don't know about Murkowski.
I really hope she remains alive and functional until after the election. There are just too many balls in the air right now, and adding a SCOTUS confirmation to the mix is not in the nation's best interest.
She's got a recurrence of liver cancer- not trying to sound cruel but will be surprised if alive and functional is in the cards a month from now. On the other hand, she is no doubt getting the absolute best medical care the world can offer.
True, true. Reading more about it, not just the headline, I wouldn't be shocked if she lasts a year or more. This woman is clearly gonna do her best to hang on until President Trump is out of office.
I don't see her hanging on through his second term. Possibly living through it, but not in any condition to remain on the SC. But I'll be surprised if she doesn't remain alive and working through early November. That's less than 4 months from now, and looking at her medical and work history, it'll take a lot more than a slow-growing liver cancer that's responding to chemo, to take her out.
In the final 6 months of the Obama regime the senate would not allow Merit Garland to be nominated. I expect that any vacancy will have to wait until after Nov. 3rd.
Dem hypocrisy has been blatant and off the charts on a daily basis and it doesn't bother them in the slightest. When it comes to the Supreme Court I can accept some Republican hypocrisy.
Awesome! That's what I like to hear. It must be done. No delay.
McConnell will ram it home
make it so
If they wouldn’t push it through, I doubt anyone would trust the GOP again
Look for Mittens to derail. He's a DEM after all.
Murkowski has no chance at reelection, so she will be a thorn.
Collins, needs money for reelection campaign, but northeastern republicans are not middle America republicans. Who knows.
States really need to be cautious when vetting primary candidates. The loss of the the Alabaman seat, hopefully rectified in NOV, has hurt.
Good post, good points. So do you think Mitch will get it done or the TDS crowd is able to stop it?

I place the odds at 54-46 he would get it done.

Her medical history is such that statistically she should have been dead a long, long time ago, but she's not. She's obviously very resilient.

Mitch has already said he would do so.

He'll get Amy Barret confirmed.
Someone on here said McConnell wouldn't let him get anyone confirmed before the election. Hope they were wrong.
