Masks don't filter out the particles already airborne, they only filter the particles when they first leave your body and are larger.

The point of mask wearing is to stop people spreading it, not so much to stop people from getting it. It's a team effort. "Do onto others."

Easy to relate example: Take a garden hose with a sprayer. When the water comes out, its a big stream/big drops. But stand 15 ft away from the water spraying out - now you feel only a fine mist. The longer water droplets (or spit, saliva, mucus, etc) are in the air, the smaller they get.

This is why the cloth mask on your face prevents things going out, not coming in.

Nowhere, not EVER, has a government, state agency, hospital, scientist, or doctor ever claimed that wearing a mask will directly prevent you from getting Covid-19 or any other airborne virus/bacteria, for that matter. They have made it quite clear from the beginning that the purpose of mask wearing is to stop the spread - which indirectly helps you to not get covid yourself. This is where simps that haven't passed 2nd grade like the woman in the OP photo are apparently confused.

Someone who is infected and wearing a PROPER mask PROPERLY has basically a 1% or less chance of spreading the disease to others via the airborne route. Likewise, an infected non-mask wearing individual who is coughing and sneezing in a grocery store has probably coated just about every item in the grocery store with the virus and will infect hundreds of people (depending on how busy the grocery store is).

Hold the paper in front of your face, and then trigger your sneeze reflex with the pepper. Note how wet the paper is. Now, get a new sheet of paper and your wife's pantyhose. Hold the pantyhose over your face, do the same thing. Note how much drier the paper is. Derp. If pantyhose, which is pourous as fuck, can significantly reduce how much bodily fluids you expel, then a cloth mask with much more tightly woven fibers sure as fuck can.

If 100% of people wore masks, covid would have been over by now and we could have been back to normal. But nah, instead of just wearing the damn things and getting back to normal, we'd all rather whine about the tyrant Democrat govs and mayors, without stopping to consider that maybe we are just enabling them and giving them reasons to keep everything shut down.

I'm in Upstate NY. I still can't fucking work and I'm going broke. Cuomo (D), who I have hated with a passion for nearly a decade, still won't let us get back to normal because our Covid numbers are aren't declining enough. I hate that he won't let us, I really do, but then I remember that if we just used common sense and improved our numbers, the fucker would have no reason keep us from working.

I'm as freedom loving as the next person. But I was also raised with respect. If I see a sign on a business owner's door that says "masks required", I will respect that business owner's wishes on HIS private property. I am not a fucking disrespectful leftist twat that thinks I can get everything my way at the expense of everyone else.
