In the article it says that Donald and Melanie didn’t want people seeing that room so they took it off the official White House tours. I can just imagine them going in there and seeing that ridiculously tacky art and just being like, “you know what... don’t even bother, we’ll just turn this into a storage closet or something.”
The Obamas did as much as they could to get rid of traditional, historical styles and colors in the house and put in a lot of casual browns and tans. They clearly hated the traditional style and wanted to subvert it, plus they seem to have awful taste.

I don't blame them. It was such a nice room and now it's just awful. Oh well, that can all be fixed - hopefully in the second term.
I like the 2010 room.
It looks like the 1963 room, just updated.
But the 2015 room looks...weird. Sterile. Uncomfortable.
