I’ve seen several liberals I know post on FB how trump has his “secret police” out in Portland rounding “peaceful protestors” up in vans for no reason. What is actually happening? Are federal authorities in there to finally quell the crazy unrest?

theyre special units of federal marshals. they dont need permission, they dont need badges or ID. the governor cant remove them or the mayor. they're there to protect federal property because the locals wont

All bullshit, smokescreen to try and keep the riots here going. Federal agents have more authority than Police, different rules. Also none of these people are "peacefully assembling or Law abiding" like the Fake News Media keep claiming.
If they have to go a few blocks to detain anarchists attacking a federal building I'm pretty certain it is well within their authority. All these attacks are on a federal court house which is what gives Trump the authority to do this.

They declared Antifa a terrorist organization and the federal agents are picking them up.
Antifa communist vermin have been vandalizing and trying to destroy federal property for > 40 days running. The courthosue in Portland is one example of this property.
The Federal government has an obligation to secure its property, with force if necessary. No one has the right to violently attack federal property without an even more violent response. This is particularly the case when city and state officials quietly support the anarcho-communist terrorists.
Don't fall for the fake news peddlers trying to tell you "secret police" are arresting "peaceful protesters". Law enforcement is cracking skulls of terrorist filth infecting our cities.
