I mean... did they not have tasers or are they banned in her county?
He was fairly far according to the video, im not saying dont defend yourself but do they not have tasers?
Edit: thats probably what they'll get her for. If she had a taser on her person then she's probably going to lose the suit. I know people dont want to hear that.
By the way mate. You do realize that one good round was good enough to take a knife wielding man down? Every additional round is counted towards police brutality if not reasoned well enough.
If that guy came at you, you'd run like the little faggot you are, even at that distance.
100%. You have no idea what that stride means. I'm born and raised in L.A. and have seen that pose 1000 times. It means, "Fuck you. What are you going to do, bitch. I'll fuck you up." That cop knows exactly what that pose is. It's not submissive. It's not compliant. That dude was a gang member. I know it. She knew it. Everyone knew it, except for you, because you're a little bitch.
Cops can't run or you end up with UK police. Guy got exactly what he deserved.
I think she was too quick to shoot. He was still walking, so she could have maintained that distance by walking backwards. The second he started to run, even if it was one step is when she could have fired. There were also other officers present, which makes it far less dangerous if she was on her own (gun jamming, missing the target).
Also the last two shots were unnecessary. He MAY have been standing up after shot 4 but she should have waited. I hope she doesn't get in trouble, but if I'm the daughter I think I have a good case that he didn't have to die, or that there was still ample time to see how the situation would play out
she could have maintained that distance by walking backwards.
She did. There's no video of what's behind her. Probably had to stop against some barrier. Also, how well can you walk backwards while looking at something in front of you and not trip over something? Probably not well.
I just checked, thought it was Monday for a moment.
Shooting someone 6 times is absolutely a last resort. There were other officers around and a man was wielding only a knife 25 feet away walking (not running). That to me doesn't justify deadly force (YET). If he gets closer 10-15 feet or starts running towards her OK. It was just a bit early.
She said “do we have non lethals?” I assume that means she knew she didn’t have a taser on her and was asking if one was in the trunk of their squad car.
Tasers have a quite significant failure rate and their effective range is pretty much the same distance where a criminal armed with a knife can kill a person even after they've been shot.
This is a good video that shoes just how ineffective less-lethal weapons can be:

WOW... I mean this was crazy - and it's not even look like a very strong or durable person.
Just running around after this guy for so long was putting more people in risk...

Edit: lmao this isnt reddit losers.
A knife is lethal. You don't use a taser (less than lethal force) for a person with a knife. You're absolutely wrong on this one.
He was about 30 plus feet away. Disagree.
Also fists are deadly too. Anything is
Did you do any research at all before you decided tasers would work on someone 30 feet away?

So you advocate using tasers, an acknowledged lethal weapon, but don't advocate using a service pistol, also an acknowledged lethal weapon...

Moronic statement. She was completely justified. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.
Actually good arguments. It is bad of you to just repeat your same point without aknowledging points of the answer directed at you.
this exactly.
with the erratic behavior he was displaying, I thought for sure he was going to rush out or throw the knife and he was well within the distance to so.
good point! actually, I am torn between favor or disagreement.
At that distance, if he had the element of surprise, the advantage would be with the knife.
