It's a cover of a Linkin Park song. So the copyright infringement has to come from the band that did the cover and not Linkin Park?

I think whatever record label produced it has the rights to the song's likeness, but that would depend the deal the band signed. People can make covers, but have to give writing credit and pay royalties to the original creator if you monetize that cover. I believe you can play a song, for example, on youtube in a video, for the purpose of creativity/criticism. I think when using it in an advertisement, you'd be crossing that line and would need to pay for the right to use the song.

That is purely my understanding slowly built over the years with no real research. Take it with a grain of salt.
