It's a global degeneration. Look at some areas in italy of famous fountains and old classical architecture on google street view. Go back several years, pristine. Now in 2020 after the 'cultural enrichment' arriving on waves of dingies, covered in graffiti.

I know a guy who is getting insane overtime organizing cleanup projects (getting subs together, setting schedules, facilitating with the police for protection while working) for scenes like this and stores that were looted and burned.

He's not complaining about the pay, but says it's a sad state of affairs because 1) it costs cities a huge amount of money for their public areas and 2) for the businesses, their insurance pays it out - which means premiums will go up in those areas, making yet another barrier to entry for small businesses in the future.
