We used to call this "going through a phase" and growing up. The behaviors were less extreme. A bad haircut not a tramp stamp, for example. But teens did used to grow out of it and not make it a permanent identity. Make parental sighing and eye rolling great again?
That too. And some of this is definitely from neglect and selfish parenting. But some is also from helicopter best friend parenting where kids are never allowed to have their feelings hurt and aren't mildly shamed for acting like dumbasses. Which, all teenagers are dumbasses. They're not all dumbasses in the same way but they all are dumbasses. Myself included when I was one.
You're right about that. I'm from the last generation that was universally expected to be self sufficient by 18 at the latest. The infantilization of young adults isn't protecting them. It's crippling a lot of them.

Certainly, many people who are not blind, militant atheists are taking a second look at religion and are starting to appreciate the meaning and values that it brings. Meaning and values that many atheists are trying to look for in their empty lives.
Many Atheists misunderstood Christianity and are actually quite excellent Christians. What they rebelled against was the same false piety Jesus denounced.

You're right. Notice one of these transformed girls mentions faith, and the other mentions God. That's the common thread.
