Forget likely voters. This one isn't even a poll of registered voters. It's just a poll of adults, including a majority of whom are registered voters.

Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 points for the full sample and 4.0 points among registered voters, including design effects. Partisan divisions are 30-24-39%, Democrats-Republicans-independents."
Of course being a "random national sample" who knows which states were more heavily weighted. It could mostly be a poll of NY, CA, and IL for all we know.
I've been doing my digging on the polls and am more confident of victory in November now than any time in a long time. These polls are like the summer of 2016 all over again, only worse.
Moreover, the enthusiasm gap re: Biden is huge. Nobody is enthusiastic about that old dolt. Just as they did with Hillary, these not especially energized people will see him so far ahead in the polls and figure they don't have to bother.
The large amount of independents in the poll lead me to believe they aren't selecting them randomly. That's way too high a percentage of independents compared to the actual voting population, and I think the pollsters are doing this on purpose.

Instead of fighting these why don't we go into the bastion of lefty politics and tell them it's true? Give them a false sense of hope that we can crush after the election.
