Didn’t expect this leftist garbage from a Baptist church.

Edit: thanks for the support pedes. My faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is not diminished. I’m just disappointed in the pastor. I will keep looking for a church that is rooted in God only.

I had just started going to church (used to be atheist) before this covid thing hit. The pastor was pretty good until the Floyd thing and we got a similar sermon. Really put a damper on things.

Welcome to the family fren! Don’t let an SJW pastor get you down. There are definitely good ones out there.

Welcome...just remember that people are not perfect. So do not make your opinion on God based on them. I had a similar experience that kept me away from the church for years due to people's hypocrisy, and I am very glad I moved past it.

Find somewhere where people's hearts are good and you will have found something great.

Welcome! I hope you've found a church that holds to biblical values.

Don't give up! Man isn't perfect but God is. He cares for you. What's more, the wonderful thing about the Bible is that anyone can sit down and read it for themselves. Obviously you'll need teachers in the future but no SJW "church" is gonna keep my fellow pede away from salvation.

Setting aside that it isn't quite true that anyone can sit down and read the Bible for themselves (many are still illiterate or barely literate in the world, and this was the normal condition of almost everyone just a short time ago), it's also worth mentioning that there are thousands of denominations specifically because texts aren't self-interpreting and every reader brings something with him to the table. Don't assume that because it seems clear that "the Bible says [x]" that that is really the end of the story, lest you trust yourself to perfectly understand God where billions of others have somehow failed. Humility is essential to the faith.

Maybe not in this particular case...but maybe yes, as well. Think about this:

If you go to the Church that already agrees with everything you think, do you worship God, or yourself? Again, maybe in this case, your pastor is wrong. That may be true. But in general, as a convert myself, it's important to know that if you are a sinner, and sin twists the will, then what you think about things will sometimes, of necessity, be wrong. Be willing to change your mind in favor of God's opinion. Don't be quick to judge that you know better. Sometimes you might--certainly the pastor can be wrong. But just be careful about it.
