Didn’t expect this leftist garbage from a Baptist church.
Edit: thanks for the support pedes. My faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is not diminished. I’m just disappointed in the pastor. I will keep looking for a church that is rooted in God only.
The seminaries have been infiltrated by commies. They disrepect and teach a low view of Scripture and the social justice gospel.
It’s weird, I remember when Catholics were pro-life and passionately so. My mom marched on DC for the cause when I was a kid. Of course they’ve always been for open boarders to fill their congregations and their coffers. It’s so hard to find an institution to feel strongly about anymore, of any kind. It seems none have any core values, except greed and self-interest.
That's by design. They wrecked all the institutions so that they could replace them with their own communist state. This includes the Catholic Church.
We must become our own shepherds now just as Jesus told the Apostles to go out on their own.
"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
Good advice for the religious and non-religious alike.
The Catholic church is still pro-life. Even assisting someone else in getting an abortion is automatic excommunication. The Catholic church considers any sexual activity that is not unitive and procreative (that is, open to conception..i.e., not purposely thwarting the procreative power of the sexual act) to be intrinsically immoral. It is not a matter of one's opinion, or of how they happen to read the Bible...these are the teachings of the Church. Now, if there are "catholics" who are pro-choice, they either don't know the teaching of the Church or they don't care, but they are in sin. You cannot reject Peter on account of Judas, in any case.
As for open borders, the Church is not for open borders, either. The Church does teach that we are first children of God, and that love of neighbor is God's commandment. The Church teaches that all people, to the extent that they are able and while not sacrificing proper care for those people (family, etc.) entrusted to us by God, must welcome the stranger. But that is not "open borders" and it has nothing to do with filling coffers.
Sincerely, I appreciate your response. And I’m sure there are parishes that still promote the old belief system, but the institution has been infiltrated by different thinkers and the undertones, in my opinion, are considerably different. One need only watch Pope Frances in action to believe that. In my view, it is and always has been an institution motivated by coffer-filling. I’ve seen it up close too many times. When your priest drives a Mercedes and sends parishioners to your house asking for pledges and to see your tax-returns, there is a problem (true story). We can agree to disagree.
