Edit: thanks for the support pedes. My faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is not diminished. I’m just disappointed in the pastor. I will keep looking for a church that is rooted in God only.
Absolutely agree. They were the ones who got the Catholic church to give up the idea of purgatory, which is non biblical.
They teach bible and biblical. They stick very close to the warnings of Martin Luther. They are trying to be 'hip' here and there it is very cringe. They should stick to their already good formula. It does not need to be tweaked much if at all. Every time I go I can get something from the lesson they teach. Every time.

Sacrificing yourself to others is by choice. Commanded by the church and not God is close to exactly what the reformation was about. You can not buy favor with God you are sinful being condemned to hell. Only by his grace are you free from it.
If choosing a new church look for the warnings of Martin Luther. If they fail at a good amount of these things you should not join. They will attempt to lead you astray from God and back to the world.
One 'church' near me took down their cross to be inclusive, painted their doors in rainbow colors (not because of Gods promise), and call themselves a spiritual center. That is unfortunately no longer a church. I am sure their message of inclusiveity and helping each other is grand and all. But I am sorry they no longer walk with God.
