Give the commies time and space to show the world that they're anything but peaceful protesters, then decisively crack down when they finally do something inexcusably stupid/evil so that nobody can whine about it (and still be taken seriously) and all the fence-sitters can see he's really the law & order guy.

As much as I think Portland deserves to burn at the hands of its homegrown Red Guards, it's going to be hard to run as the law-and-order president without actually enforcing law and order. Fortunately, while the optics of doing that might have looked bad back in June, by now Rose City Antifa's done more than enough by themselves to make any defense of their actions as 'peaceful protest' into a total farce.
A few days ago, I read that Trump's looking to take more serious action against Antifa and friends next week. Maybe they'll be going on the offensive soon?
