Good... when you live on a military base, you give up a tiny amount of freedom to fly whatever flag you want in exchange for living in a protected area. Anyone who lives on one should remember that they are representing the military. If I was the SecDef and I was being driven through a base neighborhood and saw rows of confederate flags or pride flags, I'd think it was distasteful either way. Same goes for campaign flags and sports team flags - sorry folks. Only American flags and state flags should be flown on base.
When I lived on a military base, I was glad to have the US flag flying high over the parade field, and remember everything coming to a halt (including traffic) for Retreat (lowering of the flag).
We didn’t need any other flags, other than unit flags, which of course were subordinate to, not in competition with, the US flag.
