.308 is designed to be a low recoil version of the .30-06, and that was considered a standard infantry light rifle cartridge. It is nothing even approaching 'kicks like a mule'.
US SOCOM doesn't even consider anything lighter than a .338 Lapua Magnum to qualify as a MEDIUM rifle cartridge, and that is a necked down .416 Rigby.

Shoot more. You'll get used to it.
.308 fired from most platforms results in quite a bit of recoil. I've been shooting for 24 years and never really heard anyone argue otherwise.
Have you actually fired any of those rounds you listed outside of a video game? lol
The only one of the calibers I actually mentioned that I have never fired is the .416 Rigby.
same
true lol
True
I got a Mauser 300 Win Mag it’s powerful
I was raised on FN C1. That beautiful Nato 7.62 mm, you knew you didn't want to be the SOB downrange. Heavy as fuck though.
Get a AR10 with extra power buffer spring and adjustable gas block.
You sacrifice cycle rate for felt recoil, which is acceptable for a 308 rifle.
Commie droppin'...de-tensifies...
556 been droppin' commies since '69
I've shot 308's back in 2015, my first time shooting. I remember how fun they are. I'm looking at some bolt actions.
That is a slick one and it also comes in creedmoor. Both seem to have good shelf life when there is a run on the bank.
Where can you find an XCR? And will you show me lol?
I recently got a Ruger American Predator. Can't sing it's praises enough. Fantastic rifle.
Bolt action is for cavemen. Get an M-14.
It sure does
