I think this way because I'm ethnically Jewish on my moms side. The exclusivity and do as I say mentaility I grew up around was directly opposite to the American culture I appreciated far more. I found out this mentality was widespread and endemic and it is a feature not a bug it is implicit in the scripture.
But it was birthright that showed me everything.
