Went to Academy Sports on the 4th of July to celebrate by buying my dream gun, a Ruger LCP II. On sale too! At the same price or cheaper than what used ones are selling for! I moved to Texas a year ago and didn't get my concealed carry yet, but I figured what's 3 days.. no big deal. I'll get it soon.
At the store, the clerk tells me my NICS is in delayed status. Sure, it's the 4th of July, no big deal. Days pass, still delayed. Weeks pass, still delayed.
So today is day 15. I wasn't going to buy used, but at this point it seems like that's the only option to buy a firearm these days.
About me? I've purchased several new firearms in the past. I have a valid passport, TSA Pre-check, TWIC, and Global Entry. I've even contracted for the FBI and CJIS certified. What more do they need lol

I thought at delay+3 days an ffl can transfer the firearm. But it's possible that Academy's policy is to be legal++ and not transfer on delays.
