It is impossible to justify the media and state governments trying to drum up more fear than ever simply because more people are being tested. Even if a person is a leftie they should hopefully understand this unless they are really far gone.

deaths are a lagging indicator of cases and are now trending upward
12 week downward trend. It doesn't take long to say it was a death because of covid, it takes a while to spin a death "with" as "from"
I have been creating occasional China Flu charts based on the Johns-Hopkins dashboard of death site. Here's the math I have regarding deaths per day:
1024/day from may 18 to june 7
745/day from june 7 to june 28
688/day from june 28 to july 19
A definite downward death rate even though the number of cases has been trending up.

More than likely a temporary spike due to the Fourth. We'll see either way, especially now that President Trump has the reins.
The deaths always follow by one week when you look at the curves.
