That’s actually not a crazy idea.

In the ancient days, when some dude got smallpox the whole village would treat him like royalty and rub some of his pox pus on themselves and they’d all be asymptomatix or mild no sores themselves.

People layer found that milkmaids wouldnt get smallpox cuz they got mild cowpox instead.

innoculation is ok. vaccination is not.

we need some viruses, like we need some bacteria. viruses eat cancer cells first and then the immune comes and sucks up the exploded cancer genetic shit and learns how to kill that cancer itself. viruses train immune to kill cancer, antibodies are the immunes way to turn off the virus once it has been trained; the immune system doesnt “fight” the virus like a foreign alien invader trying to kill it. People who die from viruses die from being over cancerous already, like trying to cut out a big tumor before shrinking it, too big a shock to the system, if they didnt die from the virus eating too much cancer they would have died a worse death from the cancer

Cowpox is a different disease from smallpox. They most certainly used cowpox infected individuals to inoculate themselves (usually lancing their skin with puss from a boil) but If they did that with smallpox many would die.
