Yup. He took a lot of backlash for backing a nationalist party like For Britain. He called out the liberal bs open borders thing and that he didn't understand them for supporting a Muslim invasion who stand against every liberal idea of freedom of thought and liberty that he's been supporting through his whole career. Johnny Marr is one of the best and most innovative guitarists ever, too bad they broke up. Its a unique sound but not hard to reproduce, its all effect based. Its particularly heavy on the tremolo, some compression, chorus and reverb.

You can do the main verses with just tremolo, the reverb would not give you the choppy vibrato effect needed. Then a tape delay for the whaaa-haaaa guitar part.

He's actually anti-establishment, he hated Trump because he thought he was going to blow up the world, lo and behold no Wars or interventions so far. He also hates Obama , But I'm pretty sure his views must have changed a little on Trump in the last few years because he supported For Britain which is a British anti-immigration party. He's Anti Islamic immigration because he says in Islam is against everything that he always stood for has a liberal in the classic term. But he really hates the mainstream media and has only given one interview in the last 15 or so years and that was to Larry King on RT.
