That was a great video but my .380 hi-point I bought 15 years ago fired 3 rounds and destroyed itself. It only cost me $75 bucks so wasn't pissed when I threw it away.
What don't you like the angle? There are different sizes. My hand even fits perfect in the finger grooves of the older gens 3 and 4. On the midsize like a g19. I also have a 17 with grooves (gen 3). My brother who has a bigger hand than mine likes holding it better than the 19
I was on the eww hi-point train until a guy said, "I'm not trying to carry it, its just for home defense. Its cheap and reliable." And I thought, huh, doesn't so bad to me.
Who [downvoted]? Who the fuck [downvoted]? Who's the slimy little Communist shit twinkle-toed cocksucker down here, who just signed his own death warrant? Nobody, huh?! The fairy fucking godmother [downvoted]! Out-fucking-standing!
Though I dont care for hi-point. It's good to have someone in more affordable business for those who dont have the dough. Plus if it jams up, just throw it at the person, and if that's someone's entrance into the world of 2a support, I couldn't care less.
Based. I used to own a 995 carbine, the original planet of the apes version. It never once failed to to bang and was pretty fun to shoot for the money I spent on it. I sold it to a friend 8 years ago and he still has it, with nothing bad to say about it either.
If anyone hasn't seen them yet, check out the demolition ranch hi-point videos. They're hilarious. And the hi-point is surprisingly tough, probably cause they're made in america.
Kek says you did right, but a pistol is what you use to fight your way to your rifle.. at least you have something to fight with! practice with it, especially reloading as fast as you can.. then practice more.. load only 2 rounds and practice reloading.. if the shit hits the fan, it is any extra step you need to take that can go wrong other than shooting.
spez: and I like the fact Hi-point doesn't fuck around, When asked why die-casting was chosen as a manufacturing technique, a Hi-Point representative responded, "In the area of Ohio where we are located, there are many shops that specialize in die casting for the auto industry. We utilize this resource..
She's so heavy at the end of the day, if all else fails you already have a club in your hand!!
Yeah, it looks like guns have gone way up in price (obviously). I paid about $300 for a PPS M2 last year, now they're $400+. Better to have something than nothing at all.
I bought one just to have in my collection and for comparisons when I do reviews, and aside from it being the ugliest pistol I've ever owned, it shoots great.
I've had a couple of stovepipes and f2f in my ugly ass Hi-Point 9mm, and that gun has had close to, if not more, than a thousand rounds through it. And that was when it was using cheap steel case ammo. Using brass rounds, I never have the issue.
Is it ugly? Yup
Would I even try to conceal carry it? Hell no
Is it cheap enough that even those on low income can get, or buy it as a backup for the house? Yes
I still have my C9 as an extra pistol in the house, and will take it to the range a lot as there is something about that big ugly beast that's kind of fun to shoot.
A guy I know told a story about when he came home from the sand box, he bought one of those to carry because apparently you just get used to it (carrying always over there). Some things happened with his wife and family, and he decided to give up. He put that piece of shit to his head and pulled the trigger, and in typical Hi-Point fashion nothing happened.
I can hear the crunch of the slide racking from here!
How much?
Too much. Whatever the price.
Tree fiddy
You need to look for used firearms in the future.
Hi-Point can be had for under $100 on the resell market.
I think that $170 is about what they go for now, new.
$1.70 right? Like that's what you mean? $1.70?
A dollar two eighty five. I think they are like $140.
Shot placement lads. Getting shot in the face by a hi point sucks just as much as getting shot in the face by a gold plated sig.
Some might say more.
It's like when a Muslim is killed by a female.
Click, crunch, jam, clear, crunch, click, click
I'm sure it's fine.
High Point... how tough is it?
Actually pretty tough surprisingly. Anything’s better than nothing.
Exactly!
That was a great video but my .380 hi-point I bought 15 years ago fired 3 rounds and destroyed itself. It only cost me $75 bucks so wasn't pissed when I threw it away.
My brother only has 2 garbage handguns a hipoint .380 and a SVD9E. Said he likes the hi point better. Probably because he doesn't like recoil
SD9VE is a decent gun... after you sink $100 of parts into it...
For my first 9mm semi auto I just got a Glock.
Couldn't stand the glock grip, sd grip was just perfect

So true
You could've just sent it back. They'll give you a new one.
I have had one of their 9mm carbines for years and I had to do that after some errors while trying to refinish the metal housing over the mechanism.
They sent me back a new gun with the same serial.
Flannel Daddy can destroy anything with a rock. Matt is more real-world.
Spez: I take that back. Matt and Bigdaddy should collaborate.
I legit love how TD boiled down the best things about bestgunnit and kept it, and expunged all the crazy insurgent glowposting.
I've been told that Pot-metal is what it's made from (similar to airsoft and replica guns)
I was on the eww hi-point train until a guy said, "I'm not trying to carry it, its just for home defense. Its cheap and reliable." And I thought, huh, doesn't so bad to me.
Nice piece bro.
Glock is cheap and reliable if you're at least middle class.
Plus guns are a capital asset that hold their value quite well if you buy the right ones.
Sure a Hi-point gets you a gun. But is basically worthless from an investment perspective. Nobody is going to want to buy a used Hi-point.
AMERICAN MADE. LIFETIME WARRANTY.
UGLY AS FUCK
GOES BANG. COMMIE GO BYE 👋 👋
For any pede who wants a Hi Point but doesn’t have $100, just drive up I-290 just outside of Chicago and pick one up off the side of the highway.
Hope you never need it.
Nah, everyone needs a gun. It's a right that need to be exercised.
Who [downvoted]? Who the fuck [downvoted]? Who's the slimy little Communist shit twinkle-toed cocksucker down here, who just signed his own death warrant? Nobody, huh?! The fairy fucking godmother [downvoted]! Out-fucking-standing!
The original Yeet Cannon. Well done lad.
Yeet
First handgun I ever owned hipoint 9mm in about 1994. Went boom every time.
Did it cost about one Hi-Point?
Hi fam.
My kids are using the empty stripper clips in their lego builds.
I've messaged our mods that gundeals needs to be the next dot win community. It'd be a huge coup.
This pede hates my wallet.
Now take it to the range and practice, practice, practice 👌
Fellow pede, I own only one hi point. It is a 995. It is ugly but I have beat it for years, Fed it crap ammo and it still shoots true to this day.
I have many other high end models that I treat far better and feed better ammo, but guess which gun goes to the range the most often....
People can call our hi points ugly but for the price nothing will ever match that quality.
I can’t confirm or deny that. All I can admit, is that I can say Chimichanga in 7 languages.
Not a fan of hi-point but Its cool that they sell to the Everyman.
It's you want a good cheap gun check into the Walther Creed
I'm ugly and I'm proud. That's what that gun says right there.
The hi point carbines are great
Nice. Are you laying on the floor wearing a mask here?
That's just your face?
Lmao
insert snarky hi-point comment
My snarky comment has jammed, hold on a minute please, I gotta fiddle with it.

Here's some videos that delve into the details of the high point.

Need more toes.
gunnit plz
Almost bought a Glock21 gen4 today. Torn between that and Glock 23 .40 s&w but I think the .45 is where it's at.
Nice purchase.
All firearms are getting scarce. Buy what you can find, afford and operate. Congrats on the new gun!
I really like my Hi-Point Carbine
When the gun shop is all out of Glocks.....The High Point!
Based. I used to own a 995 carbine, the original planet of the apes version. It never once failed to to bang and was pretty fun to shoot for the money I spent on it. I sold it to a friend 8 years ago and he still has it, with nothing bad to say about it either.
I've always been morbidly curious about their ugly(cool) ass carbines. What do you think of the pistol?
that's what I thought when I bought my shield. Now I genuinely think it's a nice looking gun
Cool beans!
If anyone hasn't seen them yet, check out the demolition ranch hi-point videos. They're hilarious. And the hi-point is surprisingly tough, probably cause they're made in america.
not to be that guy but.. a high point? you gonna throw it at em?

Not gonna hate on your hi point - it's a perfectly serviceable melee weapon.
They get alot of shit for being made with cheap materials, but they are reliable, if bulky and heavy. Perfect cheap nightstand or trunk gun.
I had one of those. It was HUUUUGE. Took it to the range, and first shot, scored a bullseye.
I gave it to my girlfriend, but, I still have a 9er. I love these things.
Every person that actually tests these things on Youtube say that they are strong, reliable, accurate and inexpensive.
ETA: Check out Hickock1945, I think, on YT. He's as good as any, as a quality authority on any guns. He rather likes them.
The ultimate in zap carry according to r/politics mods..
Now when your wifes boyfriend hits you in the head with a fence post you can solve that problem
