The mask blocks the droplets that the virus travels in which are bigger than 0.30 microns. So this would be accurate if mosquitos traveled in bubbles with diameters greater than 2 inches.

The masks are rated for 0.3 microns because that is the hardest particle size to block. That doesn't mean they aren't effective at smaller diameters.
