It's not as if they're actually going to send any women to the front lines if they get drafted. All those medic and admin jobs will be women while men get sent to the front. There's equality and then there's "equality". Guess which one happens most of the time.

The point is to equalize the registration requirement. Men cannot get federal student aid and government employment without registering, not to mention the criminal penalties for non-registration.

Do you really think the government is going to tell every woman that turns 18, "do this or face jail time" or "do this or no federal aid like welfare for you"? No, they'd face backlash like you've never seen before. It's going to result in at most removal of the penalties, if they keep the draft at all instead of just falling back on conscription instead which makes the whole thing pointless because that's just the draft with less steps.

If it affects women negatively it never lasts long.

If it affects women negatively it never lasts long.

Which is exactly the point. Take the victory, even if you think it's for the wrong reasons.
