If they say "I'm an athiest because believers cant show me evidence god exists" then all you have to say is "show me evidence god doesnt exist" and they have equally as little evidence.
That means athiests are believers, they just dont believe in God. They are equally if not more religious in my opinion.
Anyone seeing where I'm going here and wants to throw in their two cents?
If most athiests used the same standards they use to argue with believers, then by those same standards, they shouldnt be athiests in the same way I'm not a feminist. I can care about women and not be a feminist. If they need proof god exists to be a believer and there is none, then they should need proof to prove god doesnt exist to be athiest. They have nothing. Meaning that they are hypocritical. They shouldnt be athiests either by their own standards, yet many of them are. It's like saying "I drive blue cars because I dont like people who drive red cars eventhough there is no proof of which color is better or worse"
That being said, I thank god for saving me and not letting me turn into a rotten commie
It's impossible to prove a negative.
People are pointing that out. I appreciate it. Didnt realise that was part of the argument I was making. Could definitely figure out a better way to do that so it doesnt get all twisted backwards because of the proving a negative. I'll have to think on it some more.
You're right about most atheists' religious tendencies, but your opening "prove a negative" argument is literal dog shit.
If you assert something exists the burden of proof is on you; just like Kavanaugh didn't need to disprove he was in a "rape gang".
their whole post is dogshit
It's not dog shit because these people have given me great constructive criticism except you buddy. If the argument is shit I'd like to hear why.
Turns out my half ass 3am toilet thought had some problems but I for one have gotten some great constructive criticism from people of all kinds of opinions. Maybe it was dogshit for you but not for me haha
I see your point. It's a good point. I wonder what the question I'm actually trying to say is then 🤔 I think you understand where I'm going with it, I'm just asking the wrong question the wrong way.
I think that part in particular can be worked on you're right. My overall point was more along the lines of pointing out how I see so many athiests basically saying "I think these people are a cult so I'm going to join the cult that's opposite of theirs" rather than saying "I'm not going to join a cult"
I'm not saying either side is a cult but that's just the way I thought about describing what I'm trying to point out is ths flaw i see in so many athiests arguments.
I need to come at that prove a negative part a different way though. Dont want to be be turning into an idiot. I'll have to think on that part some more I think. I appreciate your constructive criticism buddy
The word "cult" is irrelevant. People are tribal regardless of the size, origin, or metaphysical nature of the tribe.
Tribe is a really good word instead of cult. Cults just what popped up into my head to try to build an example of groups that would disagree. So tribe is probably a lot better of word choice 😂😂 thanks
Ah you're exactly who I was looking for after everyone told me I was trying to ask people to prove a negative. You're the little piece of information I've been looking for that's been on the tip of my tongue.
Rather than saying "prove he doesnt exist" which is a double negative, I should be pointing out how the agnostic situation plays out.
That's really interesting because you say you're an agnostic athiest and before I went to believing, I was an athiest and then turned to half agnostic half athiest and then full agnostic right before the redpill hit me harder than chris brown hit beyonce. Great comment. I've been replying to people telling me about my double negative situation and you gave me the piece I was trying to think about in my head but couldn't quite put together. Thanks
Man take a look at these comments. I'm really triggering some folks this morning huh? 😂 I've got so many people giving me constructive criticism who are athiests, agnostics Christian's, all kinds of stuff and then some people tale my post a little too literally. All in good fun thought. Really having some interesting conversations in these comments.
There's all kinds of athiests and agnostics and Christians and stuff so when I say "athiests" apparently it means different things to different people. Some people automatically think I'm talking about all athiests when I'm really trying to talk about just specific athiests making a specific argument of have specific ideas.
My problem is that I cant hold everyones hand showing them when I'm talking about "all athiests" and just "particular athiests" so if I get the grammar wrong, or I go off the rails in a way I might not have wanted to, it turns into a shitfest of people hating on me 😂😂
It's all good though. My intent was to post some questionable ideas to get people conversating in the comments. I appreciate people like you and everyone else actually trying to discuss the situation I'm throwing out. Whether I'm even right or wrong.
lmao at theists always pretending atheists are all the same, all militant and "more religious"... gtfo. coddle your faith ego elsewhere. its sad.
many atheists are MAGA and not leftists, nice blathering of false blanket statements though. cute.
How can you say that when you literally just did exactly what you said I'm doing right there? "Lmao at theists always pretending athiests are the same"
I'm not going to call you stupid because you're doing a good enough job at exposing that yourself but I've literally been conversating with athiests and agnostics in this very comment section. If you think I'm retarded enough to believe all athiests are the same then you're the idiot, not me. All the athiests are the same in one way too. That all dont believe in god. That's the only way they are the same.
Dont think I think all athiests are stupid because I didnt meticulously male sure I worded everything correctly wo your head wouldnt pop off the pillow calling people idiots because you think you know what they believe.
arguing with idiots is exhausting done it for decades. thus my pithy response. end. have a nice life with your imaginary friend
❤ have fun losing people to talk to until your all alone because you think you're so smart. I love you.
LMAO. your pretentiousness is off the charts.. I'm sure you "save" an abundance of souls with your holier than thou faggotry
"You theists always pretending all athiests are the same"
Pretentious: attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed.
Sure buddy 🤡
Thanks for the comment. This is what people have been pointing out to me. You explained it in an even better way. Cant prove a negative. One guy here on td said he was an agnostic athiest and pointed out the relationship to agnostics and athiests and it helped me figure out an argument I can make that will replace that entire double negative problem completely.
r/politics must hate this place. I can make a half retarded opinion and instead of being ridiculed everyone is just showing me where I'm wrong. Some people I disagree with some I dont. It's nice to actually learn something with people who can help rather than just get called some mean names and then shadowbanned like on reddit. Useless morons have a censorship problem. Go figure. I've been polite and everyone who thinks I'm wrong has been polite and what would ya know, I was wrong in a way this time around. Gotta love this place
Sounds like we agree lol. Lot of weird "Christians" these days. Take a look at jesse lee peterson. He calls out every fake Christian he finds from what I can tell. Super annoying.
Agreed. Imagine, a movement of people working together to build strong communities rather than going to church to get lectured at by some racists 😂
seems like you're looking at the actions of human beings in their fallen state and somehow expecting to see God
none of what you typed is shocking to those who follow Christ
what we're seeing all around us, especially in the church and with church "leaders", is the deception being sowed by that other being you don't believe in
there will be more people, especially "Christians", that give in to the deception than continue to walk, albeit imperfectly, with Christ
it's all unfolding before our eyes exactly as it was written long ago
Do you remember what they said? I missed it before they deleted it
i'm literally shaking because you assumed my gender
literally hitler
i am the XX chromosomal variety of fallen human
but i forgive you ;-)
just having a bit of fun with you
you leaped to a giant conclusion about me spreading my passive loser ass cheeks for commies and then you assumed my gender to top it off
it made me laugh so i thought i would share the humor with you
but i guess i don't have the best timing
and me!
Woo hoo!
I am.... was.... an atheist (with all this crap I’m back to agnostic) and when I was a straight atheist, I never considered these people to be atheists. A real atheist wouldn’t give a crap if people believed in gods or not. A real atheist wouldn’t be militant in tearing down others’ religion and spend 24/7 arguing about the existence of God. They are unhappy people desperate to prove they’re happier without God. And that, in my view, is still a theist. Even if there may be an “anti” in front of “theist” instead of just one “a”.
Just curious, when you say "they dont care when churches burn" who do you mean by "they"?
Have you personally met most Christians?
Generalizations are the result of intellectual laziness. After mentally justifying your own superiority, the next step is harboring hatred for strangers you have never met, spoken to, or even glanced at.
Your perceptions are one thing, reality is another.
You get mad at the churches being burned and at the apathy of loser Christians.
What makes you think Christians arent mad too? Have you done anything besides simply getting mad and accusing others of inaction?
Youre also being deliberately disingenuous in representing what I said. If you go back and re-read it, I said "After mentally justifying your own superiority, the next step is harboring hatred for strangers you have never met, spoken to, or even glanced at.",
First step was getting mad and believing Christians are apathetic in regards to burning churches. The second step was feeling superior because "youre mad" and "Christians arent". The next step from that false feeling of superiority is inevitably harboring hatred and feeling justified.
No one sought you out for an argument, you willingly participated in a theological discussion. You could have just ignored this post. No one is even challenging your belief here, just asserting that it is belief.
From your standpoint, it takes too much faith to believe in God.
From where Im standing, it takes a terrifyingly more substantial amount of faith to believe in no God.
The real question is why you seek to label us as militants? Cant you just live and let live? Let us discuss this, with or without you.
You support the 1A right?
Nobody singled you out. You saw the post, got upset, and chose to join the conversation.
Nothing offensive or shocking has even been said. If you dont want to participate, you dont have to.
Friend of mine that went to church with me when we were younger is now Atheist. I removed him from Facebook because he was like the Jahova Witness of atheists . Just sharing all this garbage from these godless Facebook groups. Lol. Seriously annoying af.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apophatic_theology#Apophatic_theology_and_atheism
Well I also find that some militant atheist think about God then some Christians..
It's nearly a hobby of their's they have books about it, go to websites. It's kind of funny.
The 2000s era atheist movement brought a lot of cringe to the table
First off the old classics still work. If they talk shit about christianity, you can start asking them about Islam. Makes most of them clam up real quick.
I'm an agnostic (btw agnostics get called fake atheists by the more militant Dawkins era atheists) but your beliefs are yours and they're just as important as my own and I wouldnt fault anyone for anything that makes living your life just a little bit easier, or makes your own deeds more meaningful, or brings good into the world.
The atheists you're arguing with are likely remnants of the atheism+ community. True hypocrites, the + meant plus ideology. Their faith in communism is deeper than the most evangelical of the southern baptists. Not to do a #notall but they really turned me off from going full atheist at least in name
Youd be surprised man. I think you're right. I find athiests that are obviously commies, then I find athiests that are on the trump train here all the time. People are making up their minds differently in different places and making different progress in different places.
It's just weird to me because there's so many trump supporters now and they all believe so many different ways and then they say "I'm xyz" and it's so interesting because when I got redpilled I aimed after things I thought maybe I was taught about wrong. It's become clear to me there is a movement among the Christians for better christianity, there's also a lot of really smart athiests I've talked to here on thedonald.win.
It appears some people question some things and not others. Some people make up their minds in different ways than I have. It's really quite an amazing thing to see. Since I got redpilled I also turned to the bible and have been learning a lot about God but not everyone does that. I'm running into agnostic athiests helping me with my believer vs. Nonbeliever arguments.
You're last part is also extremely interesting because so many people are saying you can care about women and not be a feminist. You can not believe in god and not agree with people who say they're "athiests"
I've gone away from a lot of the "I identify as xyz"
It's like how I'm able to say I like christains, I might even say I am one, BUT when I go online and see these churches doing all this wild stuff, I dont agree with those Christian's. I think jesus has been a really good Christian. I dont think Karen at church telling you to put your mask on your shoes going to call the mask police on you is a good christian 😂 my point is that the athiests are even more diverse than that. It appears maybe many of them like trump, and are still athiests after the athiests are themselves. Its obvious people are out there trying to think. I dont want anyone who is an agnostic in their good conscience, lie about believing in god just like I wouldnt expect an agnostic type person to make fun of me for believing. If anything is certain in this world, it's that the agnostics and athiests and Christian's on reddit do exactly that 😂😂😂 yet all the ones on thedonald.win dont. That's why I love this place.
The choice to not believe, is a belief in itself.
Believing in godlessness may be an anti religion in their mind, but it is actually a religion where they worship and kneel to each other and themselves, not God.
Ive thought this for a long time and totally agree with you. They so arrogantly think they "broke the system" and by simply ignoring God, that little voice inside will go away.
It will not.
