I haven't taken the ASVAB but I am in physical shape and got a 1300 in SAT and 33 in ACT, so I hope I'd do well. Not saying that to be cocky, but to clarify I'm not some butthurt loser blaming my failures on someone else. More than anything else I'm just annoyed
It's not like I especially want to only serve with people of my race. However, I would prefer to know the folks on my team are there because they are the best, and not because they fit some quota
From my experience the USMC is the only service that is still fairly unified regardless of race. I meet young vets at the VA and the USMC vets still seem to be motivated and to stick with the Semper Fidelis Motto.
He's probably throwing in his personal woke feelings on the matter. He's going to discouraged every Caucasian who comes through his office to give up before they're even in.
As nice as he was, he is a racist who thinks less of you and everyone like you. He's in a position he shouldn't be in at all.
That is what is amazing to me. The left is preaching about how racist it is for blacks, all while REAL racism is happening against white people.
If my son was a protected race, he could have gotten into MIT. He will be at a disadvantage throughout his life just because he was born white. That is wrong.
My Son is White and is currently working to be a Corporal by December. He will be in two years December. Started out as Private First Class because he had his AA Degree. FYI.
Back in the early 2000s, I minored in Criminal justice and was told by my professor (A career Female cop) that any white males getting into Law enforcement would have to work 3x as hard for the same career advancement as a person of color.
Just to play Devils Advocate (former Army service as an Officer), recruiters have quotas, and the Military has needs, what he said to you may not be a true statement in the way you are interpreting it, but rather he/marines need more of a particular MOS or more enlisted, and hes trying to steer you in that direction.
If you have not gone to college yet look into the ROTC program, which will secure you an officer slot as long as you arnt a complete piece of shit, or if you have graduated then OCS isnt particularly hard to get into, but they do only have a certain number of slots per cycle. I hate to rag on recruiters because like Police their are more good ones than bad ones, but some behave like used car salesmen, so if you have finished college and are trying to do OCS, just find a different recruiter. Doing well on the PT test (like 240 or higher), will make it a cake walk to get in, which isn't necessarily the same thing as "I am in god shape."
I somehow doubt he's correct. I just got out of the Army two years ago. The military is very much a meritocracy. The military operates in life and death in the immediate real world. They only care about results.
Talk to the guy again and ask him what makes him think you would be at severe disadvantage? Does he have any evidence? Is this a formal directive from his superiors?
Get the evidence. Then take it to your Congressman/Senator.
yeah but hows that asvab score

If I were in your shoes, I'd try again...maybe in two years. Maybe less.
In the meantime, I'd do whatever I could to be an even more attractive candidate.
Why?
Because I think there's going to be a reckoning and these commies will be purged -- with all of their Kalergi and related agendas.
Go for it anyway. Most of the Marine specialist units are white/latino. You wont be sorry. USMC 72-75

Shoot him an email thanking him for the advice and get him on the record.
I mean, I have nothing against him, I don't want to get him in trouble. Really, I appreciated his honestly, he seemed as against as anybody.

Read your last sentence.
Find another recruiter.

You had a bitch ass recruiter. Ignore and move forward. Find another recruiter but don't let 1 person speak for the Marines.

Thanks Obama. Seriously, he ushered this shit in mass during his administration
Is part of the package has your photo? Sounds like he is full of shit.
