I would bet a beer that the body is not the hitman. He probably got someone that looked enough like him in a similar fedex uniform and offered him money to hang out somewhere (or kidnapped?). After his assassination attempt he stopped by and shot the other guy so that the authorities would be off his case long enough for him to go back underground.

We will never know the truth b/c authorities can't admit that there are killers for hire from any number of organizations world wide. Silk road was the low end craiglist version of what these groups offer but offered the regular population a glimpse of what was happening behind the curtains.
