Not so sure about most, but the major incident of which most of us are aware, complete with screaming banshee and followers get got warning, was indeed released.
From the interview with DHS Sec they are detaining people for questioning at secured facilities away from their mob buddies. The Secretary also said they determined after questioning that the guy they nabbed in that one wasn't the guy they were looking for so they ended up releasing him without charges.
However, outside of this specific case I don't know of any where they snatched someone like they did that guy and then later released them with no charges.
That doesn't mean it hasn't happened, I just have not read of another case.
The specifics on any of these are pretty thin from what I have seen so far. But that just might not be public info due to being Federal for all I know.
You hit the nail on the head and I'd like to add more color to your statement.
The federal officers bring the insurgents to secured federal facilities, and said insurgents are then brought under the federal judicial system.
When Portland state police arrest insurgents, these insurgents are brought to the Portland state judiciary system and state grand juries choose to release the commies.
Such state grand juries will, because of basic criminal procedure, be a cross-section of the immediate local citizenry. Thus commie-friendly juries choose to release commie insurgents.
When one is brought into the federal judiciary system, the grand jury would not be a cross-section of the local citizenry but instead more akin to the state-wide citizenry. Thus, if (not just Portland) Oregon decides to indict the commies, then commies get their day in court.
