I feel you, man.

I had some awesome clients in/around Portland and it was getting nutty before our Favorite President was elected, but after inaugurations, I started turning down jobs and rounded out the project I was involved.

Last I was there was about year/year-and-a-half ago and it was just a shame to see downtown and really within a 10-15 minute drive anywhere around there.. Several of the business owners/leaders that I was working with went to working from home and others have just left the state altogether.

Sad.

Yes, I went and visited a bunch of my old areas to spend time in when I lived there. It's awful. You know how people say there are rats the size of small cats and in your mind it's like "yeah, sure buddy." They have rats the size of small cats right down by the Burnside bridge in downtown. Just out in the open in daylight.

I went over through Chinatown and there the street was closed off to traffic. Friday night. The bars were busy like they used to be but there were lines out the doors onto the sidewalks and they curved out into the street around the tents. Tents outside the nightclubs, nicely dress clubgoers ignoring them. People doing coke sitting in the street. Two cops on the corner just watching it all.

There was a man walking around with an enormous "The End is Near"-type sign handing out pamphlets lol.
