Knee jerk reaction is heavy disapproval. However, when this first-impression has happened before in response to a Trump tweet or statement, it has played out in our favor.
This is NOT appeasement. He’s not even endorsing mask wearing explicitly. I believe the new professional campaign manager has come to the same understanding I have over the past few weeks - there are too many independents and RINOs out there that are being socially programmed to be a single-issue voter related to masks only.
This not only has great potential to win them over, but also plays into the hands of in-person voting being allowed everywhere, and hopefully assuaging fears of those who want to shutdown schools.
If you think about it, it’s a win-win - BUT we are responsible for not turning our backs on GEOTUS over this and ensuring we can disagree strongly about wearing masks, continue to “civilly disobey,” and chalk this up as a wise political maneuver.
