Went to a neighboring Walmart recently. Kid in the entrance asked if I had a mask, I said nope, he handed me one and I said thanks then put it in my pocket
Walked inside to grab a cart. Customer service lady asked if I had a mask. I said nope. She said she has one and they are required now. I said no thanks I'm good and went on shopping.
She was confused but left me alone. I got my items and checked out. Cashier was polite. I was polite.
Buddy told me a story that someone he knows doesn’t wear a mask when he goes into menards. Menards staff follow the guy around yelling at him about masks but they don’t call police as far as I know.
Do not comply. Fuck masks
Edit: if police are called, apologize to the police that the store is wasting their time. Leave peacefully. Then shop there again without a mask. Dont make this easy on petty tyrants.
Edit 2: A Walmart manager I know contacted me and confirmed if you claim religious exemption they leave you alone right there. If you’re Christian and worried about lying or what that exemption is, you’re objecting to a miscarriage of justice and an abuse of power which is related to sins of pride and vanity. You’re objecting on moral grounds so feel free to claim the exemption. For non Christians, I don’t recommend lying but the tool is there!

Havent worn one at grocery since 4th of july. No one has hassled me but if mgt asks, fine, cant get 86d at grocery. Need it!! But wrote WRECKER on one and TILL WHEN on another. There, I pulled a filthy rag out of my purse and put it on my face..whew!! Feel safe now, comraaaade!?!?! And will not put it over my nose. It is a muzzle.
I think a lot of us probably work retail. We all know masks don't help, and so do most of the employees and managers of your local retailers. Most of us do not like the mask rules, but are dealing with corporate mandates.
You can claim a medical condition. The employees cannot ask anything about it or even request proof.
You can claim religious exemption, but that doesn't carry as much weight if you're white.
Usually there are only one or two employees trying to enforce the mask mandate, and only because they've been specifically assigned to do so. The rest of us will accept any excuse because we probably do not give a fuck.
If they won't call the cops on a shop lifter, why would they call the cops on someone not wearing a mask?

Ran into my first total block for no mask.Not a chain, small store I've occasionally gone to for over 30 years. I respected their stand; told the person at the door: their store, their rules. Asked if someone could help me with the specific product I went there for. Got helped, product brought out to me, and had a nice discussion with the manager about what the store was like 30 years before.
Maybe the folks inside had legit health conditions?
Who knows, good that it was a respectful interaction at least.
This is the case. Many of the employees started working there in a search for health improvement. That's how I found them originally.
Yeah I think giving others policing power over people was the intent of the mask bullshit.

I also have a religious exemption: I refuse to worship masks as a new religious idol.
I just went to the store without a mask. 4 couples walked in and noticed me standing in line. Each one practically said the same thing. "see, hes not wearing a mask so Im not"
This right here is exactly why we have to be the ones to step up, experience a little discomfort while we’re alone, and LEAD people back to normalcy.

Yeah and their case will fall apart in court they know this this is why they are not arresting anyone. If people are not willing to endure some discomfort now over a mask it will be a lot worse when they take their next step.

Honestly, with as much animosity as I have for police authority, it's baffling that I still support them.
I’m an optimist. I look at being arrested as a new adventure for the day. I’ve been arrested before, it’s not so bad. Just make sure you shit at home first because shitting in a jail cell in front of others is shitty.
