We've known how viruses are spread for over a hundred years now, and what role face masks can and can't serve in preventing their spread - it's absurd for them to claim science is still figuring that out or is learning something different than they've already known.
It doesn't say they don't work. It just says "does not recommend." Absolutely misleading, and we should know better than to assume they have our best interests in mind.
It's true, that's why they didn't want the general public to wear them. They said as much elsewhere. Long story short, the CDC has been doing a very, very shitty job communicating vital info to us during this whole thing. Can you imagine if this pandemic was a virus that is 100x more deadly, like ebola or something? We'd all be fucked. CDC should be gutted and their leadership all fired.

The thing that gets me about that is we were being told to not even use homemade cloth masks. They weren't shown to work and might even increase risk because people wouldn't know to wash them and they'd hold onto particles. Hell, I know healthcare facilities in my local area that were short on normal masks such that they wouldn't even let staff use them for patients who they'd been required for previously, and those facilities outright prohibited fabric masks being used as a "better than nothing" option.
Now places are still telling people to not wear any hospital tier masks but mandating cloth face coverings and disposable masks too cheap for healthcare worker use. Did we also have a shortage of fabric scraps? If not, why the fuck were they not pushing those from the start?
I feel like people miss the real message here that the government doesn't care about you and will lie to you to protect someone that they think is more valuable than you.
Have several boxes of N95 with valve I had purchased in 2014. Brought a couple into the family compound to trade for sanctuary and food. They were all, like, "How did you get those?" "Ebola" I sad. "Save 'em for ebola. This isn't ebola."
They haven't cracked open the boxes and neither have I.
Because when a face mask (a medical one) gets wet from long term use its useless beyond that point. It will get through even the smallest filter through moisture droplets.
Medical staff wear masks but don't wear the same one if they see different patients. Or wear the same one for hours and hours on end. They also go through rubber gloves like no tomorrow.
The problem with the public wearing a mask is that its a cloth mask most of the time which is pointless. Or a medical mask is worn for hours on end in most cases if working all day 10+ hours plus.
They want people to wear masks now because lockdowns are failing and people are not listening anymore. So they want masks in so when numbers go up they can lock down cities and countries again. As masks would have been the last thing they could do before closing everything down again.
They want to be in a position to close America down just before November to give governors emergency powers again. So they can call for mail-in votes nationwide.
If you live outside America, sorry they just want to destroy your country through lockdowns. So no one will have any money left. Even people with money will have no money.
The virus is going to be kept around for years to come. It's going nowhere and its too useful to the far left. If you think it will go away in November. It's not.
Get armed. If you can stock up on supplies. Medical supplies if you can.
