The CCP have Cuban and most of the other NBA owners by the balls. Here's how they did it:

1. Enslave your people and make them work hard to enrich US corporations. Keep a cut of the wealth for CCP elites, of course.

2. As your economy grows, make sure that you push basketball. It's a fun sport and good way to stay in shape, also doesn't require tons of equipment. Allow the NBA to have access to your people and build a huge base of support there. These Chinese fans will spend less than the average American on merchandise, etc, but they number in the hundreds of millions.

3. Tell Cuban and other owners what to say and what not to say. Owners like Cuban have significant amounts of their wealth tied into the well being of the NBA, and they really don't care about Chinese slaves who don't appear on the news.

I guess there might be a few owners like Steve Balmer who aren't necessarily held hostage since his NBA team is only a small portion of his $65B in personal wealth. Maybe he's a cuck anyways, dunno.
